Do I Need Counseling?
It's often easy for someone to identify if he feels better or worse than he did one week, one month, or one year ago.
When asked to explain the why's behind this answer, however, many people are unable to identify the root causes of their feelings. They might blame their scrutinizing boss or their overly critical family member for their most recent bout of bad feelings, but often overlook the larger underlying issue(s) that breed these smaller problems. Because there are so many contributing factors woven together to create one's well-being, trying to identify the root causes for negative feelings often proves to be overwhelming. Some people try to understand and resolve their problems with self-help books or confiding in close friends. Unfortunately these sorts of attempts often prove to be unfruitful, as the individual does not receive professional advice customized for his or her own unique experience.
